Post-graduation Mr.Basiami worked as a Mechanical Engineering consultant for a company called Tensile Engineering. He then founded his own company; Botscrest Holdings (PTY) LTD T/A Bloom Sanitary Pads which is a 100% youth citizen run and owned company.

Bloom was founded through the vision and foresight of Mr. Basiami who participated and made it to the Top 10 of the CEDA/DBSA University Challenge in 2017 with his idea submission centering on producing sanitary pads.In subsequent years post the challenge,the company devoted its resource and personnel towards the actual realisation of producing quality sanitary pads and currently the company is operating a sanitary pads manufacturing plant which has been set-up in Selibe-Phikwe.

 

The company services many retailers across Botswana inclusive in the list being Choppies, Sefalana Group, Pick N Pay, KnockOut Wholesalers, Thuso Wholesalers, Saverite and many other other retailers across the width and breadth of Botswana. Bloom Sanitary Pads currently employs over 12 people in its day to day operations.

Mr. Basiami has been selected twice as a delegate of the government of Botswana for the Forbes 30 Under 30 Summits in the years 2022 and 2023 respectively. He has also made it to the Top 10 of the Botswana Development Corporation (BDC) Business Den 2.0 in 2023 and this year, 2024, he was one of the select few companies which represented Botswana at Texas Dallas in the United States of America for the US-Africa Summit 2024. He has also represented the company in the Botswana Stock Exchange Tshipidi Mentorship program.
